Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34, NIV)
As we recently celebrated Thanksgiving in the USA, let us recall at least ONE thing for which we can give our God thanks.
There is a song I learned while growing up:
“I’ve got a roof up above me, a good place to sleep, food on my table and shoes on my feet. You gave me Your love, Lord, I have a fine family; thank You, LORD for Your blessings on me.”
Many of us had to make drastic financial changes last year and re-prioritize our spending. But even in the midst of the struggle, most of our basic needs have continued to be met! As for me, I am not hungry; my car is running well and I still have a 9 to 5.
Remember that someone else is facing bigger giants than you or me tonight. Someone may have to choose between buying medicine, buying food or paying rent. Yet another may have received shocking news on a health matter. There is a young lady who got married a few years ago and buried her husband recently. He passed away suddenly just two days after their second wedding anniversary. YET, she was encouraging others on one of the social media websites! We have MUCH to thank our Lord for, regardless of how our situations look or feel!
Let us keep our heads held high – even if we cannot afford the latest fashions this year. Let us praise God that we are still in the land of the living; H1N1 did not take us out of here.
Let us offer continuous praise to our God because those of us who are unemployed are still looking fabulous and are not homeless! He is WORTHY of our highest praise!
Whenever you get an opportunity to read this, pause, reflect and then burst into loud, thunderous praise, giving the highest honor to Whom honor is due.
