Day 4 – Seven Days of Christmas

We are half-way through the Seven Days of Christmas, and it is my hope that you will find value from one of the programs that will be featured during these seven days.

So – on Day 4, I am offering a FREE Webinar for those who want to understand the differences between self-publishing and traditional publishing so you can make a conscious, informed decision as you determine how to produce your first or next book.

I have been educating myself on the traditional publishing process, and I want to share the pros and cons of each process. I will take your questions, and present a curated done-for-you publishing process that you can take full advantage of at the end of this year into 2025.

Join us on December 26, 2024 at 7pm ET. Let’s discuss publishing, and let us determine how we can work together as we close out this year and embark on the next!

Day 2 – Seven Days of Christmas

Hello again!

Our 2nd offer is for those of you who want to take complete control of your self-publishing journey. You probably paid to have your book published (or you are contemplating it) and you wonder whether if this is something that you can just handle on your own.

My answer to that is YES! The process is “simple” but it can become complicated and confusing very fast. I have been self-publishing since 2018 when my hybrid publisher filed for bankruptcy and helped me get set up to handle it on my own during their exit process. Since publishing my own books, I have published for almost TEN other authors to date.

My goal with this offer is to empower more authors to be their own advocate, and their own producer as desired.

This online workshop (via Zoom) will guide you step by step on how to complete the publishing process, with screen shares, a Q&A session and a replay- PLUS you get the opportunity to meet with me one-on-one within 12 months (at no additional cost) to walk with you through publishing your first book! We will meet on Zoom, and you will share your screen with me for that final step.

You will then be able to save money and time whenever you are ready to publish more books. You may even decide to help other authors and earn additional income with publishing! Learn a skill and use it to earn income/save money!

If this sounds like you, join me on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 7pm ET on Zoom; register HERE! Your registration will be the lowest cost for this workshop, as you will be attending Live and asking your questions.

This publishing course will be offered only as a pre-recorded course in the future.

Join me! Open only to TEN attendees.

My Special Invitation to You…

I have a special offer for you. Review and connect with me if this resonates with you!

Hello!

If you are not familiar with who I am, my name is Michelle G Cameron, an author (5 books), a trusted editor, a book strategist and, of late, a book publisher. (Visit www.michellegcameron.com for testimonials and other information.)

I would like to extend an offer for you to join me on an interesting journey. I have written and published books – starting with hybrid publishers, then to self-publishing – mainly because I did not get to choose how I wanted to publish. (My 2nd hybrid publisher filed bankruptcy.)

Now that I am more knowledgeable of the writing world and all that it offers, I want to throw my hat in the ring to produce a book that is traditionally published. The difference here is that I want to take some of you on that journey with me!

I have identified a reputable literary agent who has given me the “green light” to pursue what I am about to share with you.

I want to create a helpful book for upcoming minority leaders, created by current minority leaders. I have 6 slots remaining, and it will be a first come, first served scenario. I am looking for brilliant minority leaders in any area – mental health, law, corporate, ministry, coaching, etc. The areas of focus are endless. Let me know what area you are focused in, and let’s see if you are a great fit for our project.

The start date for the project will depend on one main factor – how soon I get my desired roster of contributing authors together. This may be your first experience with writing, or your sixth. My hope is that this book will be valuable for those who are uncertain about their future, and will need the resources that this book will provide.

If you are serious about joining me on this journey, let’s meet on Monday, November 11th at 7pm ET via Zoom. We will meet for about 1 hour as I share my vision for this project. I will take questions, and then we will determine your next steps.

Please note: there will be an investment to participate in this project.

If you want to be included in this call, send me an email! Send your response to info@michellegcameron.com to receive the Zoom link to join us. I want to see you in our meeting, and if you are a great fit, I want to see your photo and your story inside our book printed through a publishing press!

I am VERY excited about this opportunity, and I want to hear from you between now and 6pm ET on Monday. The link will be sent to you once you respond.

Save the date/time, and let’s chat soon!

So…there’s this debate…

Hi!

I’ve tried to stay away from this debate that I’ve seen in writers’ spaces, but I decided to stop by and share my thoughts on this question: Should anyone pay to publish a book?

There are different ways to handle this question, but I will start here: You absolutely CAN publish a book without paying one dime, but everyone is not skilled or patient enough to do it. Some may have the skills but may not want to do it.

If someone wins a publishing contract to publish traditionally, they do not pay to publish (unless they hire editors or beta readers). If someone decides to self-publish (there are different reasons why authors choose this route), there’s the daunting task of figuring out how to self-edit, how to create a book cover, how to ensure that everything is formatted and lined up just right for the publishing platform to approve the files, and how to set everything up on the platform to ensure that all the moving parts fit correctly to produce the book of your dreams.

This is where the hybrid publisher comes on the scene. Authors will pay for certain packages to get their books completed without surrendering their rights. (Traditional publishers purchase the author’s rights when a contract is signed.)

Over time (since 2015) I’ve evolved from one-on-one writing coaching, manuscript editing, to publishing – mainly because clients have asked (and asked….) and I decided to give it a try. To be honest, it was not very difficult because I have 5 books listed, but it was different doing this for someone else. Now with several clients on my publisher’s list, I am preparing to get more into this space. This means becoming more educated on the finer details and preparing to offer clients high-quality service as needed in a timely manner.

So, do you have any questions about hybrid publishing? Do you believe it’s a necessary service, like several of my clients believe?

Editing – My Newest Passion!

Hi everyone,

I had to make a tough decision in 2015 to walk away from my corporate position so I could spend time doing the things that I needed to do, and wanted to do. The timing wasn’t quite as I desired, but the change has opened up my eyes to so many new and exciting things! I’ve had amazing and fulfilling experiences since last summer that I would not have had if I was still working there.

As I was transitioning out, I was editing new authors’ books as a side hustle. I discovered that I enjoyed it immensely! The work can be tedious and time-consuming, but the outcome has placed satisfied smiles on several individuals’ faces, including mine. I have been blessed to meet some very interesting people who decided to write and share their hearts with the world.

As a published author working on my 3rd book, I want to encourage you to write. If you have had unique and interesting experiences, or if you have expertise on a particular topic, please consider sharing it with the world. Yes, a lot of people are writing now, and there’s a good reason for that. Writing gives readers insight into who you are, and what inspires and pushes you. Share that passion with your followers on social media in the form of a book! Many doors have opened for authors: speaking engagements, and interviews before large audiences! Even new positions/employment! If you take the time to write, please take the time (and spend the money!) to edit your writings. Editing refines your work and allows the reader to understand your message easily.

So, write! And when you’re ready to edit, contact me at michellegcameron@gmail.com!
