See you again soon!
If you are in the Charlotte NC area and you want to work on your book in a community setting, we have something for you!
I will be spending three hours with you on Saturday, January 25, 2025 to answer your questions and to share guidance in person as you write your first (or your next) book.
You can be working on any type of book; I will always have recommendations to offer on content flow, characters, etc.
We are meeting in a serene location (TBA) from 1pm to 4pm.
I had a chance to go away for a couple days to be refreshed and to reconnect with one of my clients in person! I’ve known Denise Allwood since she was a pre-teen, and I am thankful to God for the progress that she’s made so far over the years.
Her story is powerful, and it shows what God can do within a short space of time. She wrote, and I edited/published her first book, “Zion Is Calling.” This is a worship journal that draws us into the presence of God for 30 days through curated songs, Scriptures, and thoughtful reflections. There are Notes pages at the end of each chapter as well so that you can add your own thoughts. The song list is accessible via QR codes displayed at the front of the book.
Here are some photos from our time together in Raleigh NC at the Pioneers Conference hosted by Dr. Faith Wokoma and Pastor Soboma Wakoma.

I have been in deep reflection for several months now, and it has heightened even more over the past week.
I won’t go into details on everything that has come to mind, but one thing that I am acutely aware of is the need to become more action-focused than ever before. Procrastination has absolutely no place in our path for progress. I know that it’s easy to type this vs. live it, as that is my personal experience as well. But I know that progress needs action, and sometimes quick action is required.
What have you dawdled about since January 2024 that has not yet been established? It’s November; another January will be here before we know it. Whatever you have on your to-do list, place a priority on those tasks and start checking them off, like I have been doing today.
One thing that you may have on your list that you have hesitated about for a long time is writing your book. If you are in Charlotte NC or surrounding areas, I am ready to invite you to spend 3 hours with me on a Saturday afternoon in January 2025 to do just that!
You may be new to writing, or this may be your next project. You were trying to figure out how to start, how to develop your plot, what to say (and how to say it), etc. We only have 3 hours together, but I am determined to make those 3 hours count!
I’ve included the flyer here with details. Note that the exact location was not added. We are still finalizing the contract. Once everything is settled, all registrants will be informed of the exact spot. It will be in a beautiful area, with convenient parking close by.
The itinerary for our 3 hours together will include a talk from me with helpful tips that you can implement as you write, with Q&A for the first hour. The next two hours are for you to spend time writing. I will be available to assist during those two hours for brief one-on-one consultations.
To keep things intimate (and overhead costs minimal), I cannot go beyond 30 attendees. If you know that you want to be in the room, review the flyer and visit this link: https://bit.ly/miniretreat2025
Registration will close when we reach our maximum capacity.
I have a special offer for you. Review and connect with me if this resonates with you!
Hello!
If you are not familiar with who I am, my name is Michelle G Cameron, an author (5 books), a trusted editor, a book strategist and, of late, a book publisher. (Visit www.michellegcameron.comfor testimonials and other information.)
I would like to extend an offer for you to join me on an interesting journey. I have written and published books – starting with hybrid publishers, then to self-publishing – mainly because I did not get to choose how I wanted to publish. (My 2nd hybrid publisher filed bankruptcy.)
Now that I am more knowledgeable of the writing world and all that it offers, I want to throw my hat in the ring to produce a book that is traditionally published. The difference here is that I want to take some of you on that journey with me!
I have identified a reputable literary agent who has given me the “green light” to pursue what I am about to share with you.
I want to create a helpful book for upcoming minority leaders, created by current minority leaders. I have 6 slots remaining, and it will be a first come, first served scenario. I am looking for brilliant minority leaders in any area – mental health, law, corporate, ministry, coaching, etc. The areas of focus are endless. Let me know what area you are focused in, and let’s see if you are a great fit for our project.
The start date for the project will depend on one main factor – how soon I get my desired roster of contributing authors together. This may be your first experience with writing, or your sixth. My hope is that this book will be valuable for those who are uncertain about their future, and will need the resources that this book will provide.
If you are serious about joining me on this journey, let’s meet on Monday, November 11th at 7pm ET via Zoom. We will meet for about 1 hour as I share my vision for this project. I will take questions, and then we will determine your next steps.
Please note: there will be an investment to participate in this project.
If you want to be included in this call, send me an email! Send your response to info@michellegcameron.com to receive the Zoom link to join us. I want to see you in our meeting, and if you are a great fit, I want to see your photo and your story inside our book printed through a publishing press!
I am VERY excited about this opportunity, and I want to hear from you between now and 6pm ET on Monday. The link will be sent to you once you respond.
The journey has been long…but I’ve learned so much along the way!
This past week I decided to share my career journey. There were so many ups and downs….a lot of disappointments too. I remember moments of fear and worry. I wanted to give up often.
I am sharing it here so you too can see and relate. Very few people’s story is a straight line. If it is, that person is indeed blessed. Read below….
Here are a few things that you may not know about me: 1. My original plan was to be a doctor. 2. Becoming a teacher was my alternative plan. 3. I was not willing to teach, so after college, I went back to retail, then banking. 4. My lifelong career in Quality started as a contractor for one of my favorite companies. I stayed for 18 years. 5. My experiences there have been the engine behind a lot of what I know and do today as an entrepreneur and as a Quality professional. 6. I’ve trained executives and staff, launched software at companies to manage Quality documents and participated in external agency inspections. 7. I had the privilege of training trainers while launching a document management software in 12 locations around the world- including Australia and India. All done virtually with screen shares – working at a Fortune 500 company. 8. I developed a simple template to track training in my company’s department and by the time I left that company, it became an adaptable template that the entire site used to track training. I was never acknowledged for it. I published my first 2 books while working in this location. 9. I fought through slander, being ignored by management and other things over the years to now being sought out for my expertise in the Quality Assurance field. 10. I published 5 books (actually 6, but one has a crazy story linked to it and it can’t be sold). One is an ebook to help authors. 11. I am preparing to write again. 12. Now, my passion is to see my clients soar! Their books are changing lives, and I want to be their biggest cheerleader. 13. The impact, the lessons, and the experiences are all part of who I am today. Quality, patience, generosity, encouragement and high expectations are all hallmarks of what I do every day for my clients.
I want you to review my list and sit back in a quiet space and create your own list journey. Everyone has one. Remind yourself of how far you’ve come, and how much it took to get you to where you are now.
And….your journey is not yet over! There’s so much more to accomplish.
Don’t you ever minimize your “list” anymore. It’s what grit and accolades are made of!
Look again at what you’ve accomplished over time. Pause, reflect and allow yourself to be amazed.
Lately I’ve been looking at my current situation; I am not where I want to be.
But….a few weeks ago, I was challenged by someone to look at what I had accomplished with new eyes. I want that for you too! I think we have become very good at self-criticism and not as strong in amazement at what we’ve been able to accomplish.
Some of us worked hard to achieve certain academic levels. Others of us have risen through the ranks within our career, and what we used to do is so far away in the distance; we’ve gotten used to our current level of achievement.
Others of us have raised (or are raising) future champions in industry, academia, government, armed forces, athletics, the sciences, and so on.
And we’ve all done some work on ourselves – to make us better, wiser, stronger and more mature. Because we’ve done the work, others around us are benefitting from what we’ve seen, experienced, learned, and applied.
Look again at everything that you’ve overcome to get to where you are today. Reflect, and be grateful. (This may get quite emotional…)
Now, here’s where your next step comes in: writing your story – the ups, downs, lessons, and words of encouragement. Be ready to write and share your story! So many others (i.e., people who haven’t met you yet) need the lessons you’ve learned and the hurdles you had to overcome to be who you are today. Don’t delay in sharing your thoughts in written form any longer.
By-the-way: I am preparing to host an intimate writing workshop here in Charlotte NC. I’ve identified a nice location and I want to spend 3 hours with you on a Saturday afternoon between December and February. Reply to this email and let me know if you are ready to work with me as a cohort for one afternoon. Based on the success of that afternoon, we may schedule other sessions.
I’d love to see you in person soon! Also indicate the best dates/month for you (one Saturday between Dec 2024 – Feb 2025).
As an aspiring author, you may be confused about what is needed to get from the idea(s) in your head to the position of selling your book. I remember those days personally.
Many years ago I was overwhelmed – but I was not concerned about the publishing situation at that time. I was more concerned about my writing process….and wondered if anyone would be helped by what I had to say.
I’m here to assure you that your story is already life-changing. You may not feel that way today, but once your book is released, you will be amazed by those who return to you to share the impact of your story.
Because I’ve had the privilege of helping several authors complete their books, I have learned so much during the process – and I believe that what I’ve learned will help you too.
Here is a list of items that I believe you will need to know to get you started:
